RRD40 SCSI address switches?

» close window

The Question is:

I am currently trying to build a 3100 workstation. I have added 5 hard disks
and I need to upgrade using a cd. I only have an old RRD40 cd drive. I do
not have the instructions so I can't find out the dip switch settings when I
connect it to the 3100. I d
on't suppose you can help in any way. Any help would be much appreciated.

The Answer is :

The OpenVMS Wizard would recommend the use of an RRD-series drive
  more recent than the RRD40.

That said, the first three switches encode the SCSI address.
The position of the fourth switch has no effect on the address,
  and should be set down.
